About Us
Converted into a country guest house in the 1930s, we are surrounded by the incredible Fairfield Horseshoe and Loughrigg Fell. Nearby is Grasmere and Keswick, with Windermere, Kendal, Coniston and Hawkshead easily accessed within 30 minutes.
There are lots of walks in and the surrounding areas, some that can even be begun at our doorstep. These walks can be found in the guides provided in bedroom folders or from books in our lounge.
Traditional Accommodation
You can check-in at our guest house from 3 pm until 10 pm, or arrive earlier and leave your bags and car with us while you take in the local area. We serve locally sourced fresh food and cooked Cumbrian breakfasts from 8:30 am until 9:30 am, with vegetarian options available too.

Nearby, the remains of Galava Roman Fort and Hardknott Roman Fort offer a rich historical experience as they date from Hadrian’s rule in the 2nd Century. Alternatively, you can visit the Brockhole Visitor Centre for walks in their 30 acres gardens, laser clay shooting, archers and boat or bike hire.
